Erica Dawn Lyle is a writer, curator, experimental musician, and cultural instigator based in New York City and Florida. She is the former touring guitarist for Bikini Kill and performs in the free-jazz improv duo MYKAWARA with drummer Marshall Trammell. Her musical collaborators have included Kim Gordon, The Raincoats, Bernadette Mayer, and Kathleen Hanna, among others. She is also the author of several books including On the Lower Frequencies: A Secret History of The City (Soft Skull Press, 2008) and Streetopia (Booklyn, 2015), and has written for Artforum, Art in America, and Frieze.
